Handmade | Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec

Conceived by Bernard Lamarche, curator of contemporary art at the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec, the exhibition proposes a reflection on the link between craft skills and the fine arts through the work of 38 Canadian artists. The exhibition covers five themes – Savoir-faire / Faire savoir, Motifs de trame, Labeurs / Loisirs, Low Brow and Prolongements technologiques – using a rich body of diverse techniques that range from video to ceramics, quilts, puzzles and models.

La bande à Paul displayed these works of various natures and scales in the four rooms of the Pierre-Lassonde Pavilion. It also created the graphic signature for this exceptional, often irreverent and intriguing panorama of contemporary Canadian creativity.
